Chinese takeout for a group

Coordinate dishes, pickup and separate requirements.

Collect the choices in one place

Send the current menu from the correct restaurant location and collect the choices from everyone before ordering. Pick one person to submit the order. This makes it easier to spot duplicate dishes, missing accompaniments and conflicting changes.

Ask about portions and packages

Tell the restaurant how many people the order is for and ask it to explain package sizes. Check which dishes, sides and drinks are included. Compare complete orders rather than assuming a family meal means the same thing at every restaurant.

Label separate requirements

Discuss ingredient restrictions directly with staff and ask whether individual orders can be packed and labelled separately. Confirm any substitutions and their cost. Keep the agreed details with the order so the person collecting it knows what to check.

Confirm the handoff

Agree on the collection time, pickup name and exact entrance. Check the receipt and number of bags before leaving. For delivery, provide clear access instructions and a reachable contact, and follow the restaurant instructions for receiving and serving the food.
